The dragon knight (龍騎士) is an extremely rare combat class fighting alongside dragons through contract or bond. Soaring through the sky on dragons attacking enemies with spear and sword, or synchronizing with the dragon's flame and lightning breath for powerful combined attacks. Strongest of the strong even alone, no army can match them with their dragon. The bond with the dragon is said to grow stronger the more pure the knight's heart. The Dragoner game series and Final Fantasy's Dragoon class established the Japanese RPG standard, while Western fantasy literature features them through Anne McCaffrey's Pern Dragonriders and others. More than a class, they're icons of true friendship and partnership between dragon and human.

Origin

A class born from the combination of the Norse dragon slayer legend with the heroic myth of dragon riding. Unlike the Eastern dragon knight who rides a divine dragon, the Western dragon knight primarily rides wyverns and dragons.
