Zeus
Zeus · King of Olympus — God of Sky and Thunder
Supreme god of Greek mythology and ruler of Mount Olympus. Lord of the sky, thunder, and lightning, he upholds order among gods and mortals. The youngest son of Cronus and Rhea, he overthrew his father to seize cosmic sovereignty. Both a just king and an incorrigible philanderer, his many transformations fathered heroes like Heracles and Perseus.
Origin
Saved from being devoured by Cronus through Rhea's deception, Zeus freed his siblings and won the ten-year Titanomachy. He divided the cosmos with his brothers — Poseidon took the sea, Hades the underworld, while Zeus claimed the heavens.
Features

- Wields the thunderbolt (Keraunos)
- Symbols: golden eagle, oak tree, bull

Stories
Invoked as patron of oaths and hospitality (xenia); used to explain storms and droughts. City-states claimed his lineage to legitimize royal houses, and many heroic clans traced descent to him.
