Michael · Archangel — Captain of the Heavenly Host, Vanquisher of Satan
Archangel shared across Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. His name means 'Who is like God?' (Mi-ka-el). Supreme commander of the heavenly host, in Revelation he battles the dragon-Satan and casts him from heaven. He is also the angel of justice, war, and the weighing of souls.
Origin
First named in the Book of Daniel as the guardian angel of Israel. In Revelation 12 he leads the angelic army that defeats the great dragon. From the medieval period onward, Christian art made him the most iconic angel, armored and sword in hand.

Usage
Patron saint of warriors, knights, police, and soldiers. Invoked in rites guiding the dead to heaven and in exorcisms. His feast is Michaelmas (September 29th).
