
Gabriel
Gabriel · Archangel — Messenger of God, Bearer of the Annunciation
Archangel of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. His name means 'Strength of God' (Gabri-el). The supreme messenger who delivers God's word to humanity: he interpreted visions for Daniel and announced the conception of Jesus to Mary (the Annunciation). In Islam he is Jibril, the angel who delivered the Quran to Muhammad.
Origin
First appears in the Book of Daniel as the angel who interprets visions. In Luke's Gospel he announces Jesus's conception to Mary; in Islam he revealed the Quran to Muhammad over twenty-three years — holding the most pivotal angelic role.

Usage
