Acidic Tyrant of the Swamps

Black dragons rule the dismal swamps and decaying wetlands with malice and cunning. Their pitch-black scales, twin curved horns, and acid breath define them. Their corrosive breath dissolves even steel armor instantly. Notoriously cruel and sadistic, they prefer torturing prey slowly rather than killing outright. As amphibious creatures, they nest deep in murky waters and often keep human slaves to maintain elaborate underground lair-mazes within their territories.

Lightning Lord of the Desert

Blue dragons rule vast deserts and arid wastelands with regal authority. Their azure scales reflect both desert sunsets and stormy skies, and a single massive horn rises from their head. They breathe blue lightning that strikes targets hundreds of meters away with pinpoint accuracy. Most territorial and methodical of chromatic dragons, they manipulate desert tribes into worshipping them as gods, ruling shadow-empires from beneath sand-cities through illusion magic and sandstorms.

The Tyrant of Flame

The most iconic and feared entity in Western fantasy, the red dragon is recognized by its crimson scales, massive bat-like wings, and devastating fire breath. Adults reach 20-30 meters in length and are famous for their obsessive hoarding of gold and gems, often depicted sleeping atop vast treasure piles. Possessing extreme intelligence, ancient cunning, and command of high magic, they demand tribute from human settlements within their volcanic territories. Their lives span over a thousand years, and the oldest specimens are considered living disasters in their own right.

Hunter of the Frozen Wastes

White dragons inhabit the polar regions, eternal snow peaks, and glacial wastes. Their pure white scales provide perfect camouflage in snow and ice, and they breathe deadly freezing cold. Less intelligent than other chromatic dragons but possessing fierce hunting instincts, they will track prey for days. Their lairs typically display perfectly preserved corpses of past victims frozen in ice. Unlike other dragons, they hoard hunting trophies rather than gold.
