The intermediate rank of wind spirits, known by names such as Sylph, Shuriel, and Sylaphe. Nimble and free-spirited, it loves flying above all else. Appears in humanoid form but its body is hazy and transparent like wind, famously disappearing in an instant and reappearing elsewhere.
Origin
The elemental air spirit named by Paracelsus. In medieval alchemy, it was believed that Sylph managed oxidation during metal smelting.
Features
- Nearly transparent humanoid, moves at near-sonic speed riding the wind
- Creates localized gusts and vacuum shock waves
- Manipulates sound for long-distance eavesdropping and message transmission
- Grants the contractor flight and fall-prevention abilities
Usage
High-speed reconnaissance, message delivery, aerial support, redirecting enemy arrows and projectiles. When contracted with cavalry, their mobility doubles.
Weakness
Abilities decrease when in direct contact with the ground. High-density ice magic blocks the flow of wind.
